Pulpmate directional felling heads are designed for controlled tree felling, cutting and timber handling in demanding forestry applications. Developed with input from Australian forestry contractors and operators, each model combines heavy-duty construction, hydraulic cutting and secure timber handling in a purpose-built excavator attachment.
All Pulpmate felling heads feature a 180-degree cut saw configuration with ¾" pitch chain and a 45cc hydraulic motor. Bar lengths range from 36" to 52" on the larger models. The heads are fully hydraulic, requiring no electrical cables to the attachment.
Saw adjustments are made at the head through a single manifold block, allowing adjustment of chain speed, bar-out speed and force, and bar lubrication flow. Heavy-duty wrist rotation is incorporated across the range, with the Pulpmate 650 and 652 featuring a double-row ball race.
Wrist rotation is powered by high-torque motors ranging from 820cc on the Pulpmate 450 through to 3000cc on the Pulpmate 650 and 652, with each head featuring two motors.
